Helping Geech get his girl out of town did give me a nice boost, but this latest job? This is the big one. This could be it for us, Drifter. So we can’t mess it up.”
“And we won’t,” Drifter replied convincingly. “Once we finish up here, we’ll head back to the hideout, get our plan of action together, grab one of Chase’s cars, and ride out to the storage unit. If all goes well, every firearm that’s supposed to be there will be accounted for, and we’ll check in with Chase letting him know that. Let’s just hope that the crew we’re selling the firearms to will be ready to make the exchange as soon as this weekend, like Chase hoped. If that’s the case, then we’ll be in by Sunday morning.”
Bear raised his bottle then turned to Drifter. “Sounds like a plan. To The Dark Angels.”
“To The Dark Angels,” Drifter repeated, clanking his bottle against Bear’s. Both of the men took a long swig of beer. After they chatted for a few more minutes and polished off their drinks, they got up and said their goodbyes to Sam and the rest of the gang and left the bar, ready to put their plan into action.

“Wow…this is amazing,” Michael said to Samantha. “And you were able to pull all of this information just this afternoon?”
“Yes, I was,” Samantha told him. The pair was sitting in a small diner located on the outskirts of Amber, near the motel where they were staying. Samantha had just arrived in town, and the two had ordered dinner and were now discussing the case. As soon as Special Agent Rothman had assigned Samantha to it, she immediately went to work, going online to find out all that she could about The Dark Angels and calling some of her connects to see what inside information she could gather.
Michael was beyond blown away by what Samantha was able to learn in such a short amount of time. As he thumbed through her files, he saw that The Dark Angels’ recruit Bear actually had a case pending against him in Idaho. He had a warrant out for his arrest for the murder of a notorious gang member. There didn’t appear to be any solid evidence against him, but he was a suspect because the murder victim had been accused of raping Bear’s sister a week prior to his killing. But Bear fled the state before authorities even had a chance to question him in the case, and they had no idea where he had run off to. But lucky for Michael he had found him, and he and Samantha could very well use their information as leverage and see what they could get out of Bear regarding The Dark Angels and their gun running.
But what had really blown Michael away was the fact that Samantha knew that The Dark Angels were in the midst of planning a big gun deal right outside of town, possibly as soon as this weekend. Samantha knew this because she had a young cousin who was sleeping with one of The Dark Angels’ newest errand boys. The kid recently began working in the auto shop with Bear and Drifter, and his ears were as big as his fascination with the biker gang. He loved feeling like a part of the crew but had yet to learn discretion, and felt as though he would look like a tough gangster in front of Samantha’s cousin if he was in the know. So he made it a point to share with her everything that he’d overhear the prospective Angels discussing in the garage.
“I am so glad that I put in that call to Rothman asking for backup,” Michael said, still combing through Samantha’s file in amazement. “This information that you have here is priceless. This may very well be all that we need to crack this case. We could have it solved and be outta this hellhole by the weekend!” he exclaimed.
“Yes, we could,” Samantha laughed, so glad that she was able to be of assistance. Ever since she had arrived at the San Francisco office, she’d felt like an outsider who was trying to work her way into the in crowd.
