Ja, Agnes, oft und leicht kommt dieses Herz nicht zum Blühen; so viel ich mich erinnere, hat es nur ein einziges Mal geblüht, und das mag schon lange her sein, gewiß schon hundert Jahr. Ich glaube, so herrlich auch damals seine Blüte sich entfaltete, so mußte sie doch aus Mangel an Sonnenschein und Wärme elendiglich verkümmern, wenn sie nicht gar von einem dunkeln Wintersturme gewaltsam zerstört worden.
